The Purcell library is celebrating National Nutrition Month with two programs:
• Recipe Modification Workshop – adults, Tuesday, March 23, 10:30 a.m. Presented by OSU Extension Agent Mickey Simpson
• Nutritious Snacks program - teens , Wednesday, March 24, 4:45 p.m. Presented by Ruth Burrows from the Chickasaw Nation

At two sessions of Gaming Day, Wednesday, March 17, teens and children can challenge one another in sports, guitar skills and karaoke, all at the Purcell library.
Kids’ Gaming Day is scheduled for 3-4 p.m., and Tweens and Teen Gaming Day will begin at 4 p.m. The children’s program is designed for elementary-school-age participants and the tweens’ and teens’ is aimed for ages 12 and up.
Gaming Day will offer the video games Wii Sports, Guitar Hero World Tour and the new Wii Karaoke game. Board games and cards will also be available.

Spring is in the air at the Spring Tea Party-themed Family Story Time on Friday, March 12, 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room.
Registration is required: please call (405) 527-5546, visit the library, or sign up on the Purcell Events Calendar.
The library encourages participants to bring their entire families to this event, where there will be stories, activities and crafts. Children are invited to dress up.
A light meal will be served.
Each month’s Family Story Time has a different theme. The next event will be Thursday, April 22, 6:30 p.m. |

The Purcell Public Library is hosting two special events during Teen Tech Week:
- “I Can Name That Tune," Tuesday, March 9, 3:30 p.m. - Teens and tweens ages 10-12 can try to recognize a wide variety of songs quickly. Prizes and snacks will be provided.
- “Facebook Matchup," Thursday, March 11, 3:30 p.m. - Teens will play games using Facebook profiles and learn information about the social networking site.
Registration for both events is required: stop by the library in person, call 527-5546, or sign up through the Purcell Events Calendar. |

In preparation for and celebration of the new movie rendition of Alice in Wonderland, the Purcell Public Library is hosting a Tim Burton movie marathon on Thursday, March 4, beginning at 3:15 p.m.
The marathon, offered for teens and tweens (ages 10-12), will include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride, both directed by Tim Burton.
“These movies give us a great idea of Tim Burton’s style of directing,” said Ashley Lund, Purcell Teen Librarian. “Teens will also be able to discuss the different approaches that Burton makes to make a film. It should be loads of fun!”
