The force is with the Purcell Public Library at its Star Wars Summer Reading Celebration

The Purcell Public Library’s “Summer of Star Wars” is wrapping up with a big dose of the force, at a Star Wars Dream Big, Read! Celebration of this year’s Summer Reading Program.
The action runs from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 24, at the library, 919 N. Ninth St., and features something for all ages, and especially fans of the Star Wars series.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in Star Wars costumes, and even bring their pets dressed in costume as well for a costume contest. There also will be drawings for Star Wars books and items, a Star Wars trivia contest, carnival games, face painting, snow cones and more.
Young Padawans (children)who took part in this year’s reading challenge also are asked to bring their reading logs to turn in and receive their commemorative Summer Reading Program medallions at the event.
Registration is not required to attend.
