Purcell presents Preschool Story Time series on Fridays in November

The Purcell Public Library invites some of its youngest new readers and pre-readers to its weekly Preschool Story Time for children ages 5 and under and their caregivers.

Preschool Story Times will take place at 10:30 a.m. Fridays, Nov. 7, 14 and 21. (The library is closed Friday, Nov. 28 as part of the Thanksgiving holiday.) Story Time features books, games, dances, songs, craft time and more targeted to children ages 1 to 5.

Take a Lego adventure in Purcell

The Purcell Public Library is building and creating with its new program “We Do Legos.” Upcoming editions of the afterschool program are planned for the first and last Tuesdays of November at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the library, 919 N. Ninth St.

Participants will share Lego kits to build and program a variety of projects during each session of the program. Activities are for ages 5 to 12 and is provided thanks to grant support from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Institute for Museum and Library Services.

Join the discussion with Purcell book club

The Purcell Public Library is “Open for Business” with its newest book club, which next meets at noon Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the library, 919 N. Ninth St.

The group will read and discuss current books that give insight into successful business practices. The monthly meetings are moderated by Pioneer Library System Business Outreach Coordinator Phil Clark.

Purcell hosts child care provider training on art development

childrenThe Purcell Public Library is hosting a free child care provider training from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 1, at the library.

Local artist Kiona Millirons will present the training, focusing on art development. Also, staff from the library will look at some of the new books that could become part of story time rotations for child care providers.

Friends of the Purcell Library to host annual Fall Book Sale

sale signThe Friends of the Purcell Library will host their annual Fall Book Sale Oct. 31 through Nov. 3 at the Purcell Public Library, 919 N. Ninth St.

The sale will run during library hours each day and will feature items in a variety of genres and include gently used books, paperbacks, & DVDs for sale at low prices. Books for children, teens, and adults are available. Special sets, like-new books, and collectible books will be priced individually.
