New Library Databases

Press Releases

Last Updated on Friday, 14 June 2013 08:25

PLS has taken on two new databases that should definitely be explored!

ConsumerReports.org

The Consumer Reports database assists consumers in making better purchasing decisions on whatever they may be shopping for. Consumers can search and browse through information about cars, appliances, electronics, home & gardening supplies, products for babies & kids, shopping, health, and money. The database also provides ratings for the items that people are interested in. If you are thinking about making a purchase anytime soon, browse this database to get the most bang for your buck!

Fold3 History & Genealogy Archives

The Fold3 database offers a vast collection of original historical documents and personal histories from the past. These valuable documents can help people expand their knowledge of their own ancestry. With a travelling genealogy program going around PLS for Summer Reading 2013, this database could help you get started on exploring an interesting personal history.

Cards for Oklahoma

Press Releases

Last Updated on Monday, 10 June 2013 13:51

Students from Michelle McDaniel's class at Polo Road Elementary School in Columbia, South Carolina, heard about the multiple tornadoes that came through our state in May and sympathized with the Oklahomans affected.

To show their support, they wrote cards expressing their well wishes, safety tips, and positivity about the future. The photo to the left is just an example of one of the many thoughtful cards written by the Polo Road Elementary School children.

If you would like to view the full collection, check out the Flickr set called Cards for Oklahoma or you can also stop by the Moore Library and see them on display.
